Jessica Backhaus recently released her new book, Plein Soleil. The book will be published this spring by Kehrer Verlag.

In this new publication/series, Jessica further explores surface, color, forms as she did in her Cut Outs series, and “has allowed herself to be guided just by her longing for color, paper, and light, free of any pressure.”

Backhaus was also recently interviewed by Aesthetica Magazine, which features images from Jessica’s new series, Plein Soleil, and discusses her move toward total abstraction in photography.
